Fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance

In plain English

This law is about trying to get controlled substances (like prescription drugs) by lying or cheating. It covers things like writing a fake prescription, lying about being a doctor or pharmacist, putting a fake label on a drug package, or making false statements to get drugs. This is a class E felony, which is a serious crime. Also, if someone lies to a doctor to illegally get drugs, what they said is not considered private — but anything said as a real patient getting real medical care stays private.

Penalties named in this law
