Public record containing exempt and nonexempt materials, nonexempt to be made available
If a government record has some parts that are secret and some parts that are not, the government must separate them and let people see the non-secret parts. When describing what was removed, the government gives a general explanation — but only if doing so does not give away the secret information.
610.024. containing and s, nonexempt to be made available — deleted exempt materials to be explained, . — 1. If a public record contains material which is not exempt from disclosure as well as material which is exempt from disclosure, the shall separate the exempt and nonexempt material and make the nonexempt material available for examination and copying.
