Criminal background check completed without fee, when

If someone who used to serve in the Missouri militia or U.S. military was honorably discharged and is currently homeless, any criminal background check done for a job, housing, or other services is free. No fees are charged for the check or any related records. 'Homeless' means the person has no home or shelter and it is not by choice.

Word-for-word law

610.103. Criminal background check completed without fee, when. — to the contrary, whenever a criminal background check is requested in connection with gaining , housing or any other services or of any homeless former member of the or the who has been , such background check shall be completed and transmitted to the requesting without any fee or other for such background check or copy of any relevant pertaining to such request. For purposes of this section "homeless" means an involuntary state characterized by a lack of housing or shelter.
