Law enforcement agency log or record of suspected crimes, accidents or complaints, available for inspection and copying
Police departments that keep a daily log of crimes, accidents, or calls for help must let the public look at and copy certain information from that log. This includes when and where calls came in, how police responded, and basic facts about any crimes — like the time, place, victim's name and age, what happened, and any injuries or weapons involved. However, the victim's name and age are kept private if the crime is a sex offense.
610.200. log or of suspected crimes, accidents or complaints, available for inspection and copying. — All law agencies that maintain a daily log or record that lists suspected crimes, accidents, or complaints shall make available the following for inspection and copying by the public:
(1) The time, substance, and location of all complaints or requests for received by the agency;
(2) The time and nature of the agency's response to all complaints or requests for assistance; and
(3) If the incident involves an alleged crime or :
(a) The time, date, and location of ;
(b) The name and age of any victim, unless the victim is a victim of a crime under ;
(c) The factual circumstances surrounding the incident; and
(d) A general description of any injuries, property or weapons involved.
