Standards and regulations for licensed persons and facilities
People and places that sell or breed animals must follow certain rules. If the federal government (USDA) regulates them, they follow federal rules. If not, they follow Missouri state rules about proper shelter, food, water, and keeping records of the animals they get and sell.
273.344. Standards and regulations for licensed persons and facilities — to . — 1. Persons and facilities subject to shall comply with the standards and regulations as prescribed by the , as revised from time to time.
2. Persons and facilities who are subject to sections 273.325 to 273.357, but who are not subject to USDA licensure, shall comply with rules by the director which establish standards relating to the following:
(1) Adequate shelter, including proper conditions of and ventilation;
(2) and water; and
(3) of records of acquisition and of animals in the of the .
