Farming machines used to spray chemicals or spread fertilizer on crops can be driven on public roads without needing to be titled, registered, or have license plates. This is true whether the machine is carrying a load or empty. All other road rules still apply to these machines when they are on public roads.
301.029. , movement on permitted, when — definition. — 1. Any self-propelled sprayer, floater, or other form of that is used for spraying chemicals or spreading fertilizer for agricultural purposes may be moved or operated on the highways of this state without complying with the of this chapter relating to , , and the display of plates.
2. The for titling, registration, and the display of license plates provided for in 1 of this section shall apply whether the described vehicles are or .
3. All other requirements of the law relating to motor vehicles, unless the context clearly provides otherwise, shall apply to the vehicles described in subsection 1 of this section when operated on the highways of this state.
4. As used in this section, the term "implement of husbandry" means all self-propelled machinery manufactured for operation at low speeds, specifically designed for, or especially adapted to be capable of, over-the-road and primary off-road usage and used exclusively for the of commercial plant food materials or agricultural chemicals.
