If someone owns a big commercial truck (over 54,000 pounds) and turns in the license plates early, that person can get some money back. The amount returned depends on how many full three-month periods (calendar quarters) are left before the plates would have expired. The money back can be used as a credit toward registering another commercial truck in Missouri. This also applies if the plates were turned in to another state instead of Missouri directly.
