A member of the NAACP can get special Missouri license plates with the NAACP emblem on them. The member pays $25 a year to a Missouri NAACP branch office, gets a paper proving that payment, then pays an extra $15 to the state when registering the vehicle. If a member stops paying the NAACP fee, the next set of plates will not have the NAACP emblem on them.
301.3074. NAACP special s, , fee. — 1. Any member of the for the of Colored People, after an annual payment of an to any branch office of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People located within Missouri, may receive special license plates for any motor vehicle the member owns, either solely or jointly, other than an or a d in excess of twenty-four thousand . The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People hereby authorizes the use of its official to be on within the area prescribed by the and as provided in this section. Any to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People derived from this section, except reasonable , shall be used solely for the purposes of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Any member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People may annually apply for the use of the emblem.
2. Upon annual application and payment of a twenty-five dollar emblem-use contribution to any branch office of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People located within Missouri, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People shall to the vehicle owner, without further charge, an , which shall be presented by the vehicle owner to the director of revenue at the time of . Upon presentation of the annual statement and payment of a fifteen dollar fee in addition to the regular , and presentation of any documents which may be required by law, the director of revenue shall issue to the vehicle owner a special license plate which shall bear the emblem of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the "NAACP" in place of the words "SHOW-ME STATE". Such license plates shall be made with with a common color scheme and design of the standard license plate, shall be clearly visible at night, shall have a reflective white background in the area of the , and shall be aesthetically attractive, as prescribed by section 301.130. the of section 301.144, no additional fee shall be charged for the of license plates this section.
3. A vehicle owner who was previously issued a plate with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People emblem by this section, but who does not provide an emblem-use authorization statement at a subsequent time of registration, shall be issued a new plate which does not bear the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People emblem, as otherwise provided by law. The director of revenue shall make necessary for the of this section, and shall design all necessary forms required by this section.
