Someone who has been awarded the combat medic badge can get special 'COMBAT MEDIC' license plates for cars or trucks they own, as long as the vehicle is not too large (over 24,000 pounds). They fill out a form and show proof they received the badge. There is an extra $15 fee on top of the normal registration fee, but no extra charge to personalize the plates. A person can get these plates for as many vehicles as they own. The plates cannot be passed to another person, but if the plate holder dies, a co-owner of the vehicle can keep using the plates until the registration year ends.
301.3076. Combat medic badge, special plates — procedure, fees — no additional fee — design. — Any person who has been awarded the combat medic badge may apply for combat medic motor vehicle license plates for any motor vehicle the person owns, either solely or jointly, other than an or a licensed in excess of twenty-four thousand . Any such person shall make application for the license plates on a form provided by the and furnish such as a of the combat medic badge as the may require. Upon presentation of proof of eligibility, the director shall then license plates bearing the words "COMBAT MEDIC" in place of the words "SHOW-ME STATE", except that such license plates shall be made with , shall be clearly visible at night, and shall be aesthetically attractive. Such plates shall also bear an image of the combat medic badge. There shall be a fee of fifteen dollars in addition to the regular charged for plates issued this section. the of section 301.144, no additional fee shall be charged for the personalization of license plates issued pursuant to this section. There shall be no limit on the number of license plates any person qualified pursuant to this section may obtain so long as each set of license plates issued pursuant to this section is issued for vehicles owned solely or jointly by such person. License plates issued pursuant to the provisions of this section shall not be to any other person except that any of the motor vehicle shall be entitled to operate the motor vehicle with such plates for the duration of the year licensed in the event of the death of the qualified person.
