Delta Sigma Theta and Omega Psi Phi special license plates, application, fee

Members or alumni of Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi can get special license plates for their personal vehicles. To get the plates, a person pays $25 a year to their organization, gets a statement from the organization, then pays a $15 fee to the state when registering their vehicle. If a person does not show that statement when renewing their registration, they get a regular plate without the emblem instead.

301.3086. Delta Sigma Theta and Omega Psi Phi special s, , fee. — 1. Any current member or alumnus of the Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi Greek organizations at any college or university within this state may apply for special motor vehicle license plates for any motor vehicle such person owns, either solely or jointly, other than an or a d in excess of twenty-four thousand , after an annual payment of an to the organization. Delta Sigma Theta and Omega Psi Phi hereby authorize the use of their official to be on as provided in this section. Any to Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi derived from this section, except reasonable , shall be used solely for the purposes of those organizations. Any member of Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi may annually apply for the use of the organization's emblem.

2. Upon annual application and payment of a twenty-five dollar emblem-use contribution to Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi, the organization shall to the vehicle owner, without further charge, an , which shall be presented by the owner to the at the time of of a motor vehicle. Upon presentation of the annual statement, payment of a fifteen dollar fee in addition to the and documents which may be required by law, the department of revenue shall issue to the vehicle owner a which shall bear the emblem of Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi. Such license plates shall be made with with a common color scheme and design, shall be clearly visible at night, and shall be aesthetically attractive, as prescribed by section 301.130. the of section 301.144, no additional fee shall be charged for the of license plates this section.

3. A vehicle owner, who was previously issued a with the Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi emblem by this section but who does not provide an emblem-use authorization statement at a subsequent time of registration, shall be issued a new plate which does not bear the Delta Sigma Theta or Omega Psi Phi emblem, as otherwise provided by law. The shall make necessary for the of this section, and shall design all necessary forms required by this section. No or portion of a rule pursuant to the of this section shall become effective unless it has been promulgated pursuant to the provisions of .
