Commercial vehicles licensed for 36,000 pounds or less, information displayed on exception
Most commercial motor vehicles that weigh 36,000 pounds or less must show certain information in a visible spot on the vehicle. That information is the owner's name and the address where the vehicle is operated from. If the vehicle only travels locally, it also needs to show the word 'local' in a visible spot. Vehicles licensed under two specific exceptions do not have to follow this rule.
301.330. licensed for 36,000 or less, displayed on . — Each except those licensed under the of section 301.057 or 301.058 based on a of thirty-six thousand pounds or less and which are not regularly used for actual commercial purposes shall have displayed thereon in a :
(1) The name of the owner;
(2) The address from which the motor vehicle is operated;
(3) Each in addition shall have displayed in a conspicuous place the word "local".
