This law covers the rules for riding all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). A person cannot ride an ATV on someone else's private land without that owner's permission. If the landowner asks, the rider must stop, give their name, and leave. The government can close certain roads or areas to ATVs and must post signs saying so. If someone is hurt or property is damaged while using an ATV on government-owned land, the normal rules about suing the government still apply. Anyone under 16 cannot ride an ATV in Missouri unless a parent, guardian, or another adult approved by the parent is right there watching them — except on land owned by their own parent or guardian.
301.705. Operation, where allowed — , when — persons under sixteen may not operate without supervision, . — 1. No person shall operate an on private property without the of the owner of or thereof. Any person operating an all-terrain vehicle upon lands of another shall stop and identify himself upon the request of the landowner or his and, if requested to do so by the landowner, shall promptly remove the all-terrain vehicle from the .

Sections 537.600 to 537.650, establishing the doctrine of sovereign immunity for governmental entities, and , shall apply to any death, personal injury or property damage caused in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by activity involving the use of an all-terrain vehicle on lands in which any such has an ownership, , or other or an .
4. No person under the age of sixteen shall operate an all-terrain vehicle in this state unless such person is accompanied by and under the direct supervision of a parent or or is accompanied by and under the direct supervision of an adult who is by the 's parent or guardian to supervise the operator. This shall not apply on private property owned by the parent or guardian of such person operating the all-terrain vehicle.
