Government-owned vehicles, who may operate
A person with a valid driver's license (not just a motorcycle license) is allowed to drive any vehicle owned by the government — like a federal, state, or city vehicle — for official work purposes. There are a couple of exceptions tied to commercial vehicle rules.
302.051. Government-owned vehicles, who may operate. — Unless required by the ( XII of Pub. Law 99-570) or section 302.272, any person holding a valid , other than one limited to the operation of a motorcycle or , may operate for official use any motor vehicle owned by the United States, the state of Missouri, or any or of this state.
