Exemptions from license law

In plain English

Some people do not need a Missouri driver's license in certain situations. Someone driving farm equipment on a road for a short time does not need one. A person from another state or country who is at least 16 years old and has a valid license from home does not need a Missouri license. If that person is at least 18 and their home license allows them to drive for hire or haul goods, they are also exempt. Certain prison inmates who have not been convicted of specific driving crimes may drive state-owned trucks for the prison, but only if a correctional officer or staff member rides along.
