Duplicate license, REAL ID compliant license

In plain English

If a driver's license is lost or destroyed, the person it belongs to can get a replacement called a duplicate license. To get one, they show proof of who they are and proof the license was lost or destroyed, then pay a fee. The fee is $15 for certain commercial drivers and $7.50 for everyone else. A person can also get a duplicate if they want a veteran label added, or if they need a REAL ID compliant license because their old license is no longer accepted for flying on domestic flights. No fee is charged when someone is getting their very first REAL ID compliant license or ID card.
