Conviction for failure to maintain financial responsibility or court-ordered supervision, court to forward to revenue, failure to appear in court
When someone is found guilty of not having car insurance, the court clerk sends a report to the state revenue department within 10 days. If the person never showed up to court, a different set of steps kicks in. Sometimes a court can hold off on punishing someone and put them under supervision instead — if that happens, no points go on their driving record. The revenue department keeps these reports, but supervision records stay private and are only shared with the driver themselves or certain allowed groups.
