If Missouri finds out that a car owner or driver did not have the required car insurance, the state can suspend their driver's license and/or car registration. The state mails a notice 33 days before the suspension starts. The person has a right to ask for a hearing to fight it. If someone gets insurance after they are caught, or sells the car, that usually does not stop the suspension from happening.
