If someone is owed rent, they can go to court to collect it — even if they no longer own the property or their ownership has ended. This includes the person's representatives or someone the right was passed to.
441.260. Who may recover rent. — Any person to whom rent is due, whether he have the or not or his or , may recover such rent, as provided in sections 441.240 and 441.250, whatever be the of the person owning the land, or though his estate or interest in it be ended.
