Proceeding for temporary custody order

When a parent gets notice they are being deployed for military service, either parent can ask a court to temporarily change who takes care of the child during that time. The court can approve a temporary arrangement, but cannot make it permanent without the deployed parent agreeing. Either parent can file paperwork asking for this change, either in an existing court case or by starting a new one.
