Appearance and limited immunity

In plain English

If someone comes to Missouri just to take part in a child custody case, showing up does not automatically give Missouri courts power over that person for other legal matters. Being physically present only for the custody case keeps them protected. But if they do something wrong while in Missouri that has nothing to do with the custody case, they are not protected from being sued for that.
