Hunting and fishing license sanctions
If someone falls behind on child support payments, the state family support office can tell the Department of Conservation to take away that person's hunting and fishing licenses. Before that happens, the person gets a chance to be heard. The licenses stay suspended until the family support office says the person is following the child support rules again.
454.1027. Hunting and fishing — of . — any of sections 454.1000 to 454.1027 to the contrary, the following procedures shall apply between the and the department of conservation regarding the of hunting and fishing licenses:
(1) The family support division shall be responsible for making the whether an individual's license should be based on the reasons specified in section 454.1003, after ensuring that each individual is provided , including notice and opportunity for ;
(2) If the family support division , after completion of all due process procedures available to an individual, that an individual's license should be suspended, the shall notify the department of conservation. The department or shall develop a consistent with a between the family support division, the department of conservation and the , and in accordance with 42 U.S.C. Section 666(a)(16) which shall require the suspension of a license for any person based on the reasons specified in section 454.1003. Such suspension shall remain in effect until the department is notified by the division that such suspension should be or terminated because the individual is now in with applicable child support laws.
