Bond of joint executors or administrators

When more than one person is put in charge of a dead person's estate, the court can make each of them put up their own bond (a kind of financial promise), or make them all share one bond together. Only the people who put up their bond are allowed to do any work on the estate.

Word-for-word law

473.173. of or . — When two or more persons are appointed or administrators of the same and are required to give a bond, the court may require either a separate bond from each or one bond from all of them, and none shall act or in the estate except those giving bond as required by the court.
