When someone dies and they had a business partner, the surviving partner gets to keep running the business, pay off what the business owes, and wrap up business matters. The surviving partner has to report to whoever is handling the dead person's estate and hand over any money that belongs to that estate. A court can also step in and order the surviving partner to report directly to the court if needed.
