Public administrator and sureties liable for acts of deputies

If a deputy public administrator does something wrong, illegal, or careless while doing their job, the public administrator and the people who co-signed their bond are responsible for any losses caused — just as if the public administrator had done it themselves.

Word-for-word law

473.773. and for acts of deputies. — The public administrator and the sureties upon his as public administrator and the sureties on any other given specially for separate estates, shall be liable for any loss by any wrongful, illegal or of any acting under such or by color of his authority as such deputy, to the same extent and in the same manner as if the wrongful, illegal or negligent act or omission had been committed, permitted or suffered by the public administrator personally.
