If someone with an interest in an estate thinks the person running the estate (called an independent personal representative) is paying too much — either to themselves or to helpers like lawyers, appraisers, or other workers — that concerned person can ask a court to take a look. The court can review whether those workers were needed and whether the pay was fair. If someone was paid too much from the estate, the court can order them to pay some of it back.
