When someone needs to send legal papers to a guardian or conservator who is from another state or country, those papers can be sent by certified or registered mail to the last known address. If that kind of mail is not available, regular first-class mail is okay. The out-of-state guardian or conservator gets at least 30 days to respond after receiving those papers.
475.338. on or . — 1. may be made upon the foreign guardian, , or conservator by , addressed to his last reasonably address. Notice by ordinary first class mail is sufficient if registered or certified mail service to the is unavailable. Service may be made upon a foreign guardian, curator, committee or conservator in the manner in which service could have been made under other laws of this state.
2. If service is made upon a foreign guardian, curator, committee or conservator as provided in 1 of this section, he shall be allowed at least thirty days within which to appear or respond.
