Some laws set their own deadlines for filing a legal case. When that happens, sections 516.380 to 516.400 do not apply. Instead, the deadline from that other specific law is the one that counts.
516.410. Sections 516.380 to 516.400 . — Sections 516.380 to 516.400 shall not apply to any , , , or , which is or shall be limited by any to be brought, had, or within a shorter or longer time than is prescribed in said sections; but such bill, complaint, information, indictment or other suit shall be brought and prosecuted within the time limited by such statute.
