Tampering with computer data, computer equipment, or computer users
If someone messes with a computer system, network, program, service, or data in a way that breaks Missouri's computer tampering laws, the owner or renter of that computer system can sue that person in civil court. They can ask for money to cover their losses, including the cost of checking whether anything was changed, broken, or deleted. If the person suing wins the case, the court can also make the other side pay for their lawyer.
