Terms of probation

Random law
In plain English

When someone is on probation in Missouri, there are limits on how long it can last. For a felony, probation lasts between 1 and 5 years. For a misdemeanor, it lasts between 6 months and 2 years. For an infraction, it lasts between 6 months and 1 year. The judge sets the exact length at sentencing. The court can extend probation one time.
