The board of probation and parole has the same powers as a trial court judge when it comes to probation and parole. Both the board and the courts can make probation and parole decisions.
559.221. — with trial courts. — The board of probation and parole shall have and exercise concurrent powers of and with the trial courts of the and shall have the same power and as that conferred upon the court, or the judge thereof, under the of sections 559.012 to 559.036.
