Housing authorities not permitted to prohibit lessees from possessing firearms

In plain English

Public housing authorities and landlords who get money from public housing programs cannot stop renters, their household members, or guests from keeping guns inside their home, in common areas, or from carrying guns to and from their home in a way that is legal. Any lease rule that tries to ban this is not valid. The housing authority or landlord is not responsible if a renter uses a gun and hurts someone, unless the landlord broke a gun law or acted in a reckless or dishonest way.
