Civil forfeiture, when
If someone who owns, keeps, breeds, or sells a large carnivore (like a lion or tiger) breaks the rules in Missouri's large carnivore laws, that animal and any other large carnivores they have can be taken away by the government. A prosecutor can go to court and ask a judge to order that all of those animals be taken from that person.
578.616. , when. — 1. If a person who owns, possesses, breeds, or sells a violates sections 578.600 to 578.624, such large carnivore and any other large carnivore owned or possessed by such person are subject to civil forfeiture.
2. The in an under section 578.614 may file a requesting that the court an for civil forfeiture of all of the large carnivores owned or possessed by the person violating sections 578.600 to 578.624.
