A camping or fifth-wheel trailer that is more than 25 years old can get a one-time permanent registration for $52.50, so the owner does not have to renew it every year. If the trailer is sold, that registration is canceled and the plates must be turned in. Someone who has old Missouri license plates from the same year the trailer was made can use those old plates on the trailer as historic plates, as long as no one else already has plates with the same numbers or letters. The registration certificate must be kept inside the trailer at all times.
301.136. Camping or s over 25 years old, of — of historic plates. — 1. Any camping or fifth-wheel trailer, as defined in section 407.1320, that is over twenty-five years old may be permanently upon payment of a of fifty-two dollars and fifty cents. The owner of the historic trailer registered under this section shall keep the certificate of registration in the trailer at all times. The certificate of registration shall be that the trailer has been properly registered with the director and that all fees have been paid.
