A person who has a disability license plate or placard and uses a wheelchair — or drives someone who does — can get permission to use a special parking cone. The cone must be orange or similar bright color, at least 18 inches tall, and safe to hit without damaging cars. The person buys the cone themselves. The cone shows the wheelchair symbol and says 'wheelchair parking space.'
301.139. Parking cones for — procedure. — 1. The shall, upon the request of any person who is issued special plates or a section 301.142 and who uses a wheelchair or transports a person who uses a wheelchair, allow the person to obtain a parking cone bearing the and the words "wheelchair parking space". Parking cones obtained pursuant to this section shall be predominantly orange, fluorescent red-orange, or fluorescent yellow-orange, not less than eighteen inches in height and shall be made of a that can be struck without damaging vehicles on impact. Parking cones shall be purchased by any person wishing to use such cone.
