Fraternal Order of Police special license plate, application, fee

Members of the Fraternal Order of Police in Missouri can get special license plates with the group's emblem on them. Each year, a member pays $25 to the Fraternal Order of Police and $15 to the state on top of the normal registration fee to get these plates. If a member stops paying the yearly fee, the special plate gets replaced with a regular one.

301.3103. of Police special , , fee. — 1. Any member of the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri may receive special license plates as prescribed by this section for any motor vehicle such person owns, either solely or jointly, other than an or a d in excess of twenty-four thousand , after an annual payment of an to the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri. The fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri hereby authorizes the use of its official to be on as provided in this section. Any to the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri derived from this section, except reasonable , shall be used solely for the purposes of the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri. Any member of the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri may annually apply for the use of the emblem.

2. Upon annual application and payment of a twenty-five dollar emblem-use contribution to the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri, the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri shall to the vehicle owner, without further charge, an , which shall be presented by the owner to the at the time of of a motor vehicle. Upon presentation of the annual statement, payment of a fifteen dollar fee in addition to the and documents which may be required by law, the department of revenue shall issue to the vehicle owner a which shall bear the emblem of the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri. 3. A vehicle owner who was previously issued a with the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri emblem by this section but who does not provide an emblem-use authorization statement at a subsequent time of registration shall be issued a new plate which does not bear the fraternal order of police of the state of Missouri emblem, as otherwise provided by law.
