Members of the Knights of Columbus in Missouri can get special license plates with the group's emblem on them. To get one, a member pays $25 a year to the Knights of Columbus, gets a permission statement from them, and then pays the regular personalized plate fee to the state. If a member stops paying and doesn't bring in the permission statement when renewing, the plate gets replaced with a regular one without the emblem.
301.459. Knights of Columbus, special s — — procedure, fees. — 1. Any member of the Knights of Columbus of the state of Missouri may receive special license plates as prescribed in this section after an annual payment of an to the Knights of Columbus. The Knights of Columbus hereby authorizes the use of its official emblem to be on as provided in this section. Any to the Knights of Columbus derived from this section, except reasonable , shall be used solely for the educational programs or purposes of the Knights of Columbus. Any member of the Knights of Columbus may annually apply for the use of the emblem.
2. Upon annual application and payment of a twenty-five dollar emblem-use contribution to the Knights of Columbus, the Knights of Columbus shall to the vehicle owner, without further charge, an , which shall be presented by the member to the at the time of of a motor vehicle. Upon presentation of the annual statement and payment of the fee required for in section 301.144, and other fees and documents which may be required by law, the department of revenue shall issue a , which shall bear the emblem of the Knights of Columbus in a form prescribed by the established in section 301.129* to the vehicle owner. Such license plates shall be made with with a common color scheme and design, shall be clearly visible at night, and shall be aesthetically attractive, as prescribed by section 301.130.
3. A vehicle owner, who was previously issued a with the Knights of Columbus emblem by this section but who does not provide an emblem-use authorization statement at a subsequent time of registration, shall be issued a new plate which does not bear the Knights of Columbus emblem, as otherwise provided by law.
