When someone dies in another state, the person chosen to handle their estate (called a personal representative) can also manage any property the deceased had in Missouri. As long as they follow the required steps, they have the same powers and responsibilities in Missouri as someone appointed locally — but they can also send personal property to whoever is entitled to it under a separate rule.
