If someone had a legal disability (like being too young or mentally unwell) and they die before the deadline to file a lawsuit or claim property runs out, their heirs or anyone who inherited their rights get up to three years after that person's death to file — even if the normal time limit already passed. But once those three years after the death are up, no more time is given.
516.050. where person dies. — If any person end to commence such or to make such die during the of any specified in section 516.030 and no or be had of the title, right or action to him , his , or any person claiming from, by or under him, may commence such action or make such entry after the time in sections 516.010 to 516.090 limited for that purpose, and within three years after his death, but not after that period.
