This law explains the meaning of two special terms used in nearby laws. A 'required educational assessment and community treatment program' is a program approved by the state mental health department that helps people who got in trouble for drug offenses by figuring out what they personally need and giving them education or help. A 'substance abuse specialist' is a person the state mental health department has approved to teach or give help in programs about alcohol and drug problems.
559.630. Definitions. — As used in sections 559.630 to 559.635, the following words and phrases mean:
(1) "Required educational and community treatment program", a program by the to provide education or a to identify the individual needs of the person who has been referred to the program as the result of a drug ;
(2) "", a person who is qualified under the regulations of the department of mental health as a qualified instructor or professional to provide services in an alcohol and drug education program.
