A disabled veteran who qualifies gets one set of special license plates for free. If that same person wants a second or third set of those plates, they have to pay the normal fees.
301.075. No fee for one set of veteran plates — fee for subsequent sets. — There shall be no fee charged for one set of plates issued to an under the of sections 301.071 to 301.075. A second or subsequent set of license plates issued to the eligible person under these sections shall be subject to regular and the fee required for under section 301.144.
