Actions for wages by worker authorized

If a worker is paid less than the agreed wage rate on a contract job, that worker can sue to get back double the amount they were shortchanged, plus the cost of a lawyer. The court treats this kind of lawsuit the same as any other lawsuit over unpaid wages.

290.300. s for wages by worker . — Any worker employed by the or by any under the contractor who shall be paid for his or her services in a sum less than the for work done under the contract, shall have a for double whatever difference there may be between the amount so paid and the rates provided by the contract together with a reasonable to be determined by the court, and an action brought to recover same shall be to be a suit for wages, and any and all judgments entered therein shall have the same force and effect as other judgments for wages.
