Public sale of real estate, where made, adjournment

When a court orders real estate to be sold as part of settling a dead person's estate, the sale must be held at the courthouse or another place the court picks in that same county. The sale has to be open to the public and run as an auction. The person in charge of the estate can delay the sale, but only up to three months total, and any delay must be announced out loud right there at the sale.

473.510. Public sale of , where made, . — 1. All public sales of real estate, made by of the court, shall be made at the courthouse door of the county in which the real estate is situated, or at such other place in the county as may be by the , at the time specified in the notice, and shall be conducted openly by auction.
