When a dead person's property is approved to be sold, mortgaged, or rented out, the person in charge of the estate (the executor or administrator) must sign and hand over the proper paperwork to the buyer, lender, or renter. That paperwork must include details about the court approval, the sale process, and the price paid. It passes along whatever ownership rights the deceased person had in the property at the time they died.
