After a driver's license gets suspended due to an accident, it stays suspended until one of three things happens: the driver pays the required security deposit, OR a full year passes with no one filing a lawsuit over the accident, OR the driver shows proof that they are no longer legally responsible for the accident damages (through a release, a court decision, or an approved payment agreement). If the driver misses a payment under an agreed payment plan, the license gets suspended again right away and stays that way until the driver either pays new security or a year passes without any lawsuit over that payment agreement.
